Question: What is still the biggest problem on Earth?

It’s even bigger than the Covid19 plague. More disastrous than the global recession. Worse than nuclear weapons. To begin the discussion click below and watch my YouTube tutorial (8 mins) …

— This 8-min session was edited from Dr Michael Hewitt-Gleeson’s televised address with Zondwa Mandela (grandson of Nelson) to the Arab and African Youth Platform in Aswan, Egypt on 17 March, 2019.

When you complete these ten lessons, and the ten DFQs, you’ll qualify for your personalised Lateral Thinking Certificate – Advanced (LTC-A) from School of Thinking which can be useful to add to your Linked-In qualifications.

After you’ve watched and thought about the session reply with your own answer to the DFQ. In our training for each lesson we have a DFQ – Daily Feedback Question. Usually reply with your own thoughtful answer to the question in around 25 words or so. There’s no ‘right’ answer. It’s meant to be a personal comment. All the answers will later be shared.

DFQ #01What is the most important insight you personally have taken from this first lesson?

Record your answer below: ‘Leave your thought’. You can also read the thoughts and conversation points of others taking this course.

The next lesson will come tomorrow: Lesson #2 – The Solution.

  1. Since reading some of your work Michael I have just realised I have been using your practical thinking tools to help patients at my physio practice. The fact there is another option or a better view of the situation is empowering for patients and it can help them escape their current view of their situation.

  2. When binary thinking is the only software you are using, you’ll tend to focus more on what to think instead of how to think. And that leads to always “defending“ your position, at the cost of searching for a better position.

  3. Similar to how finding happiness became an introspective process, I find it to be a compelling thought that the “world’s biggest problem” is equally internal.

  4. If form follows function, I wonder why our education has been so inefficient when it comes to learning how to think. I could conjure up some conspiracy theories but it seems that if we, as a country, were truly interested in this country being great, it would start with learning how to think instead of how to remember stats.

  5. The biggest problem on earth is that most humans are afraid to develop new thoughts or change their way of thinking, that really what makes subsequent generations to be less creative and keep making the same mistakes by the same way.

  6. My answer will be based on my understanding of the question.
I think is the Humans and their unconsciousness, And also their pursuit in the earth without looking at what is behind things. Destroying its bounties until all its resources dry up and give us nothing.

  7. I don’t need to feel trapped by my current way of binary thinking. It has so far served me well, however, there is a another way, a better way of thinking. I am looking forward to discover trinary thinking, its’ possibilities and how far forward it can propel my thinking.
