COMMENT: Having reviewed last week what is the most interesting thing you got from the week’s training on ‘strengths’:

  1. Now, I have a better understanding on my strengths, or rather the areas that can be turned into strengths.

  2. The single most interesting thing I have learned from reading other peoples responses is how varied we all are. Our list of the first 5 strengths, taken from a relatively small number of choices, resulted in no matches that I could see. And given the same questions we provide such totally different answers. This is not a surprise, just an observation. This past week I have also had the occasion to examine the concept of wide and narrow path and this really just emphasizes the fact that we truly are all on our own path, even though we intersect with each other. Each of us has a unique perspective and personal reality.

  3. I found Rashmi’s comments particularly interesting – I have been battling to improve on my weaknesses, rather than focusing on developing my strengths.
Life becomes so much more fun, and you get to enjoy that great sense of flow when you focus on your strengths.
Thinking about what that means in leadership – surround yourself with those whos strenths are your weaker areas

  4. I guess for me it is the fact that my strengths have changed in the last year. Plus what was once a weakness is now a strength as I have trained myself to improve it!

  5. I’m definitely not cut out for participation in any corporate rat race! I’m sure my persistence and prudence could be better used elsewhere.

A little less self control – and a lot more action to support the optimism.

    Fly!!! Be free!!!

  6. Last weeks training reactivated my sense of creativity and love of learning. I have decided to take dancing lessons. I can dance ,but I want to become much better at it.
Also I intend taking up music lessons to play the button key accordion.
I also intend to become one of the best speakers in Europe! I am in Toast masters and intend to make full use of that facility.
Looking back on my life, I can see that I have traveled a long road.I believe that I have increased my thinking skills and have greater wisdom now than I had 20 years ago.
Saying that , I am conscious of the saying, “The person who believes he /she knows everything knows nothing. And the person who believes he/she knows nothing, knows.”
I t reminds me of the procedure they had in ancient Rome when a victorious general swept triumphantly into the city.A person would ride along side him and periodically whisper into his ear “Remember, thou also art human”

  7. I compared my current strengths to what they were nearly 3 years ago. Pretty much the same but 1 new one has come in, and I am trying to analyse how and why that has happened.

  8. That those strenghts can be used not just to further my own aims – but to helpothers.
