  1. Ironically we usually try to improve our weaknesses and neglect our own strengths but as it is said whatever you focus on grows and improving on weakness makes us focus on our weakness bringing about more of it, By focusing on strength we stop thinking about weaknesses as our total attention goes on our strengths, giving us more of that.
    It is a superb lesson.
    Thank you.

  2. I tended to concentrate on the event that happened over forty years ago, and realized how fit i was back then . Also i tended to act in a brave manner in dangerous or life threatening situations.
Bravery, curiosity and a love of learning are strengths that have stood me in good stead. Looking back to that individual that was me back then , i have come to realize that even though i was not “educated” in the conventional sense back then, those strengths were activated in me by my love of reading many books, mainly classics.
The saying “readers are leaders” comes to mind.

  3. Everyone have different strengths and different strengths are based on different personalities as well as beliefs and upbringing. I guess nurture and nature are at work to make us what we are.

  4. The top five strengths are only on a relative scale, with respect to other traits. These need to be applied more often to get the most benefit.

  5. The most interesting thing I got out of the last week of training is that everybody had different strengths, in different combinations – making us all unique. We all answered the lessons in our own ways – sharing different thoughts, values, perspectives and aligning our responses to both work and home life and experience. I am not always comfortable talking about myself – so some of this was challenging and when I later read my own responses, I was often surprised by what I had written and happy with the responses I had given. I spend a lot of time dealing with difficult situations – so to focus on my own strengths for a little while was refreshing.

  6. Thinking positively about my strengths, and then building on those strengths, gives a boost to the mind.
Too many of life’s day-to-day activities seem to focus on people’s weaknesses. Why spend hours working on your weaknesses when a few minutes invested in your strengths can pay greater dividends?

  7. Hello,

As a Leader, I must know my strengths and how to build them. In so doing, I can help my followers build their strengths.

Then, my company is strong. Let strengths beget more strengths 🙂

    Enjoy
    Lawrence

  8. I always say my glass is half full and not half empty.
This doesnt mean I do not see or feel the pain.
There can be a lot of pain.

Life is what you make of it.
Happiness is a choice, a state of mind.

Focusing on your strenthgs is what will take you forward.

To beleive in yourself and respect and love what you are and what you can be.

  9. Focusing on your strenghts is important and very revealing!
; sometimes you don´t fully realize your strenghts and you can encounter some surprises; becoming aware of them can give a BVS about yourself and help you solve some situations in your life ; the variety of strenghts in all the participants is very interesting because , given a situation where you are called to lead, you can detect strenghts in the group and use that for the benefit of the group
