  1. ..that these are many different facets to leadership. Gratitude, Honesty, Humility etc are all different but are all vital in varying degrees.

  2. The most interesting part of last weeks training for me was acknowledging building on strengths instead of trying to improve weaknesses can be a more productive use of time.

We all have strengths and weaknesses and I need to accept I cannot do or know everything.

  3. The most interesting thing i read was the choices that i didn’t make a connection to and reading how these choices played a part in peoples lives. It made me question myself about would we make different choices if we are born into other cultures? I ask this as with the level of diversity in our population today, does this drive how we were taught to be leaders and the way in which we think? Some of the responses have a very manager feel to them while others have a more personal approach. One of the regular responses I get from my jobs outside the Defence Force is, leadership works because your told to follow orders. While this is true to a very small extent, the day to day running is the same as what the rest of us experience. One of the biggest observations over the last few yearsI is how focussed Managers are on their own outcomes and career progression, that they miss the opportunity to achieve success through involving the team in the journey.

The last interesting thing I saw was the people that choose citizenship. This brings a different depth of thinking that again I would not have thought of.

  4. I really feel good and empowered about my strengths. The idea has occurred to me that if a weakness proves to be a real stumbling block that I can use some of my strengths to imrove on it.

  5. Everybody has their own strengths, obviously there was no mention of weaknesses but we also do have different weaknesses.

The most interesting thing I gathered is all the different ways to improve your strength or more importantly ways to asses and tips to improve.

  6. The most important thing I learnt was to focus more on my strengths and work to improve them instead of focusing on my weaknesses..

  7. That I should be more conscious of my strengths, both big and little, and then consciously work to improve them.

  8. I find focussing on positives amazing, it changes my outlook. It is new territory and has been making a huge difference in my outlook and success in meetings.

  9. It is interesting that goals can be accomplished using so many different strengths. It is using the strength that is needed. Not just recognizing but using it. Be what we know we need or want to be. Be open to new strength and ready to move forward and lead those around us.
