My view is that leadership thinking can be based on a simple formula of three imperatives:
Escape + Search = Think
Escape + Search = Think

Dear Michael lead me out or here! All bvs become cvs at some point. Do we need moral authority to evaluate our cvs and consequently bvs or is just utilitarianism or american pragmatism , what is your frame of reference. aka Einstein; Am I asking the wrong question? Or as Oppenheimer suggested is reality all skewed by our Observations? Can you see my dilemma or am I being silly? Give me your best shot or pass it on. Smiling…. and still reading comments!

Today my cvs to bvs is to check my spelling. In the USA the term “escape” has negative connotations. Perhaps from the sixties 😉 Could the term redirect apply? Will read below and think more about my cultural biases.

CVS2BVS is a great route to live in a strategy centered mind / thinking / attitude / decision /action. Yes, in my work as a Business Manager working in the global market always push me to think what is beyond the current stand and I would not be able to survive in the work if do not think instantly situation to situation that there is a better way otherwise. Example, when there is no further room to adjust with my customer demand for a price reduction which all also happen within an institutional inertia , then , I am not moving with the task as well as not turn the situation in favor of my company. So, here the solution I use normally , just pull my hands out from the current situation and penetrate to seek for another what is untapped idea / solutions have not came into my mind previously. So, this is how I believe and get use of Cvs2Bvs. This is basically a strong root to be captured always in life if need to have continuity in the process of creativity thinking and acting.
Too think more deeply about the problem and solution. Too take some time to try deBono’s six hats.
The escaping from your own cvs, added with searching for a bvs equates to thinking…..hmmm.
Thought about it and there is no reason for me to disagree with the statement although every reason to have faith in it.
A good leader needs to constantly check and recheck him/herself to ensure that the track on which the group he/she leads, is the best track for the majority. You wouldn’t really place a group of 5 onto a vehicle that can only fit 1. So at this point, information is crucial to making informed decisions, once received, a leader needs to evaluate, check the evaluation and then recheck just to make sure.
This is my take on it anyway.
escape seach think are so powerful. one can not easily move from a cvs to a bvs, by just doning one of these things.
escape allows you to, in the firstinstance, to be free of your cvs. once free of the cvs you can seach for alternatives, once the search is complete you are then able to think through and decide on a bvs. how good is that!
escape + search = thinking is critical for leadership. i get it now becuase those you lead are expecting you to keep on moving to a better place
If I want to create a better situation for myself and others I have the opportunity to ‘stretch’ my mind and think of what other ways there are of doing things beyond what I think is possible or ‘right’.
escape + search = think , will allow me to strive to view situations from many perspectives , therefore interaction with others will not be limited by there cvs , but encouraged to search for a bvsx10 and by encouraging others i will be reinforcing the practice of cvs2bvs for myself.
If thinking is a process, then it requires input. If you want the out put to be different, better or unique, well then you must feed something new into the process. Garbage-in, garbage-out. Not escaping would be like feeding the process the same fuel or worse yet returning the output back in as input… The proverbial self-licking ice-cream cone, or eating your own waste. I have to take off my own shoes to walk in another person’s shoes; empathy. Escaping + Searching will give me the unique input to fuel my desired BVS x10, at the very least.

escape + search equals finding options/solutions for a cvs. In translation means thinking. I am using this formula on a current base for each cvs2bvs situation.
Using escape + search three times means to identify options from parallel universes. Escaping from a cvs and searching to different levels of thinking leads to bvs.
