My view is that leadership thinking can be based on a simple formula of three imperatives:
Escape + Search = Think
Escape + Search = Think
Escape + Search = Think
DFQ #04:
Post your comment on how you think
ESCAPE + SEARCH = THINK might help
you to become a much better leader.

Looking for other options has possibilities.
The hardest lesson to learn is to take time to think, all to often we leap into action, we need to change the way we think about the time we allocate to thinking.
The ability to break free from regimented and highly-developed ways of doing work (noting they are often not the best way) not only helps improve effectiveness but also enjoyment of work. If you are effective and enjoy what you do no doubt it makes you a better land more empathetic leader and people will want to be associated with that.
The ability to consider new options and to choose the most appropriate option is an important skill in self leadership. Focussing on extending this concept and using it more frequently therefore appears to be a useful step in creating bvs and better outcomes.
Leadership is about overcoming challenges. The ability to find more and better bvs’s is key to leadership.
I think the key to escape from your CVS (comfort zone) is through the
questions you ask. Realizing the gift is not always in the answer but rather in the question, which triggers the searching and response. However, be aware that if you always ask the same questions, you will always get the same answers.
once you start escaping and searching and you have the base knowledge that cvs is not equal to bvs and cvs2bvs and also that cvsx10 is equal 2 bvs you move along the spiral of knowledge ever upwards.you become better at each round
There is never a best solution, because there is always a better one. Use the best one available RIGHT NOW if you’re under strict time constraints, but be open to other options down the road.
Once you decide on a course of action, begin looking for a better one to replace it later, hopefully BEFORE it becomes inadequate.
On my flight back to Australia earlier today I read a fascinating article from the New Yorker, by Malcolm Gladwell “How David Beats Goliath” – When underdogs break the rules. It seems very appropriate to today’s DFQ.
In short it is about re-interpreting situations in completely new ways – the status quo often tends to favour incumbents, the underdog can however precipitate unexpected outcomes if he/she is able to disrupt the established pattern(s).
Therefore, my task for the rest of the day is to E + S = T about my new venture.
escape is the ability to get out of CVS. searching is the ability to find BVS. this is to form the patten of thinking.
to be able to escape, you need repeat at least 10 time, the mind will work through the new level of current form, that will help your searching a BVS.
