ATLC #09 – Build on your strength

image-Stuart-MilesSure, we all have strengths and we all have weaknesses. So, obviously, there are at least two approaches we can take to grow.

We can focus on trying to resolve our weaknesses and we can try building on our strengths.

There is room for both approaches but, in my experience, it is often more productive to build on a strength than to fix a weakness and that’s what your focus will be today. Build on your strength!

Think of three things you can start today to build on your strength.

  2. I chose my 3 weakest strengths to build upon, because my first 2 strengths are so habitual I don’t need to consciously work on them. I also found a single simple thing to do that works building all three strengths simultaneously.

    1. Today I can try building on my Kindness by creating and sticking to a simple family routine, to show my Wife I am thinking of her as well.

    2. Today I can try building on my Integrity by ensuring I commit to my new family routine, because I have said that I can change, and it is time to demonstrate it.

    3. Today I can try building on my Perspective by committing to my new family routine, as she will consider a change for the better as an increase in wisdom.

    Perspective (wisdom) – Although you may not think of yourself as wise, your friends hold this view of you. They value your perspective on matters and turn to you for advice. You have a way of looking at the world that makes sense to others and to yourself.
