My view is that leadership thinking can be based on a simple formula of three imperatives:
Escape + Search = Think
Escape + Search = Think

ESCAPE + SEARCH = THINK might help
you to become a much better leader.
Most people go through their lives feeling trapped by some outer forces – work or relationships or money problems – without realising that their own thinking is part of the trap.
Leaders must enable others to lose their inner chains – to ESCAPE!
Most people think that escape will only happen when they do something to change the world around them, or get out of the situation they are in.
Leaders must set the example that the first and only right change to make is to SEARCH inside the mind that is trapped…. to change the thinking processes behind the trapped feelings.
To THINK better thoughts – to recognise that the CVS can be changed to the 10xBVS – will remove the trapped feelings altogether!!
ESCAPE + SEARCH = THINK
The more people we lead towards this kind of thinking, the easier the job of leading will become.
Dear Leaders,
We lead because we have a better objective/direction. How do have a better goal? It is from ‘escaping’ from present thinking, ‘searching’ for better ways, and setting it as a goal for all to follow.
If others are willing to follow us, then, we are leaders. Otherwise, we are just part of the pack. We follow.

I completely agree if we does not follow the first step i.e ESCAPE from CVS its difficult to look for BVS so first thing we should do is remove the focus from CVS. ESCAPE
I should not only search for a BVS but 10 times better BVS which i think is already 10 times better than CVS, I should not miss 10 and REPETITION which are the keys to build new thinking patterns. I should PRACTICE DAILY for that. I am trying.
I am sure this will help develop my thinking power 10X10 times.

The word Escape is something that is hidden somewhere and search is a process of finding escaped things. So by refreshing the mind to recall whatever is hidden is what we call Thinking.
Escape search think promotes exploring, exposure and evaluation of all potential solutions to the cvs, defeating the limiting paradigm of “we always do/did it this way”.
It is useful to have a short reminder like cvs to bvs to make us question the status quo. As well as causing us to have to think harder, it can remind us to listen to others’ perspectives too.
Having been using the equation CVS2The BVSX10, 4 the past 3 months I have found that my active mind searches for solutions to suit the situation that I require help with. It allows me to
Escape my current view, and search 4 other solutions, once I have other ideas I think about them and choose a course of action. I use this on all occasions, even when I’m fishing. I have been able to lead others to looking at The School of Thinking. as well, choosing my form of passing on information to listeners, so as to get them thinking wider.
As Einstein also said ” A problem can not be solved within the context of the problem” First you need to realize this, then take action and escape to a new situation. As a leader you need to be inovative and taking things forward and you can not do that if you are stuck in one way of thinking and in the same circumstances. What it also does for a leader is it can help him/her be open for comments and ideas of others. When youre a leader, yes you are leading, but you dont need to invent the wheel all the time.
As we are humans and not computers to come up with all the alternatives, it is very helpful remember that we have to ESCAPE.
The point is that we forget to ESCAPE most of the times. So using a thinking aid will help us remember.
and on SEARCH is only possible after we escape. So this would lead to better leadership.
Also computers are good in generating alternatives, but the judgment of the new options being better than the old ones can be done easily by humans, so CVS to BVS works by generating alternatives and then selecting the best ones from them.
The notions of escaping and searching, when considered in a workplace context, imply an adventure and a sense of fun and freedom. These perspectives alone would probably make me a better leader!
I wonder if you can only escape to think alone, or if there is a place, in these ideas of striving for better thinking, for a mass breakout??
