  1. WOW ! Michael where did you come across the Holstee Manifesto ? I bought a small Poster of this in a Craft and Art Store in Alexandria just outside Washington DC last November. It is now framed on my office wall at home along with – “Peter’s Laws – The Creed of the Persistent and Passionate Mind” by Peter Diamandis of the X-Prize Foundation and Singularity University, and a Quote from Elon Musk from Tesla, SpaceX and Solar City – ” If something is important enough, even if the odds are against you, you should still do it.”

The Important thing is I have taken action. With the help of one of my brothers working in Silicon Valley as a Senior VP and Director ,my oldest son(about to complete his PhD) and I have incorporated a startup. We are passionate about our venture. We have adequate capital,we have industry experience, we have the experience and wisdom of the elders and the knowledge and skills of the younger generation. It is going to be very hard work to get this venture into a growth phase and profitable – But our attitude is “GO FOR IT”.

What’s the worst that could happen? We might fail. But you learn through the experience. I admire the Silicon
Valley attitude of “Fail early and fail often” – there are a multitude of Entrepreneurs and Multi-Millionaires in Silicon Valley and elsewhere who have failed many times before they became successful.

I have read your books and done SOT Courses. I remember the bet with Tom Hopkins about “Closing the Sale”.
“Newsell” was right – he is never going to win that bet. BUT – Tom Hopkins did get something right – I tend to agree with the following quote from Tom “I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed, and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail AND KEEP TRYING.” It is about the ability to persist and persevere.

    Best Wishes,

    Ian

  2. “Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them.”
    Nothing more than that.
That is the essence of life.
You know instinctively and immediately how you are doing. Because if your life is not peopled with people, with closeness, warmth, love, commitment, caring and service the material things will not even notice when you are not there anymore. As everything is destined to decompose eventually, you will only live on through the love you have given out.
At the end if you have time to think it will be about people and the life you created with them, that will be your final blessing living on in them.
